More About Dr. Zima Dr. Zima grew up in Midlothian, Virginia where he graduated from Monacan High School. Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Zima received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech. After working for a few years as a product development engineer, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Zima graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2008 where he discovered his true passion of working with children. Following dental school, Dr. Zima completed a two year residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the Virginia Commonwealth University while also earning a Master’s of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Zima is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and an active member of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Virginia Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He is married to his wonderful wife Izabela and has three great sons: Justin, David, and John. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, traveling with his family, working on cars, and watching the Virginia Tech Hokies play football.
